Ondo Amotekun wants restriction on arms removed

The Commander of Ondo State Security Agency Network, Amotekun, Mr Adetunji Adeleye, has urged the government to remove the restriction on the caliber of fire arms prescribed for its men.
Adeleye, in an interview with The Hope Metro said the agency is only allowed to use non prohibited fire arms.
His words: ”We are saying any fire arms used by any criminal should be used by our men.
”Our men should be allowed to use any fire arm like what the criminals are using or other security agencies.
”We are looking forward to acquiring more state of the art equipment to combat insecurity in the state.
He urged the government to remove limitations to the crime bursting responsibility of the corps.
He said Amotekun is doing well in terms of remuneration of officers and payment of salaries, calling for more government support.
Adeleye appreciated the Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, for assisting the agency in all sides
