Leaders and elders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, under the banner of Ondo APC Aborigines, have reaffirmed their unwavering loyalty to the party and pledged to deliver an additional 400,000 votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
Speaking after a strategic meeting in Akure, the group’s Convener, Ambassador Sola Iji, said the Aborigines remain steadfast in their support for President Tinubu and the APC-led government, stressing that their goal is to strengthen the party’s grassroots base ahead of the next general elections.
“Our commitment and loyalty to the party and government cannot be compromised. We are determined to complement the party’s structures and ensure an overwhelming victory for President Tinubu in 2027,” Iji declared.
He noted that Ondo State, which delivered 67 percent of votes to the APC in the last presidential election—the highest in the country—would surpass that record through renewed mobilisation efforts.
Iji explained that the group’s operations would focus on direct voter engagement across wards and polling units, with five canvassers assigned to each unit. He emphasised that their strategy would prioritise door-to-door mobilisation rather than social media campaigns.
The convener also commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for providing an enabling environment for political participation and lauded the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, for his consistent encouragement and support.
According to Iji, the Ondo APC Aborigines are not a rival faction but a complementary force working to ensure the success of the party and its leaders at both state and national levels.
