Ondo APC chides PDP over calls for A-G’s resignation

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has strongly condemned what it described as the baseless ranting of the State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for their demands for the resignation of the State Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Kayode Ajulo.

The party noted that the demand by the opposition party asking the state Attorney-General to resign for simply doing his lawful job was laughable and amounts to taking politics to the extreme.

In a statement issued and signed by the State Director, Media and Publicity of the APC, Steve Otaloro noted that the suggestion that Dr. Ajulo be stripped of his Senior Advocate of Nigeria title over his actions in defending the position of the government is absurd and unfounded.

According to the statement, Ajulo was not appointed by the PDP, and his title as a Senior Advocate of Nigeria was a result of his decades of contributions to the legal system and his unblemished credentials as a constitutional lawyer.

The PDP and their co-travelers should understand that the Attorney-General’s submissions on the issue are clear and valid.

Otaloro, in the statement, said the PDP should focus on putting its house in order and prepare for the upcoming election, rather than making baseless accusations and calling for the resignation of a public office  holder.

“We urge them to engage in constructive dialogue and respect the diversity of views in our democracy,” Otaloro said.
