The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, has congratulated the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his victory at the Supreme Court.
Chairman of the party,Mr Ade Adetimehin in a statement signed by the party’s state publicity secretary, Alex Kalejaye and made available to newsmen in Akure described the judgment as an “affirmation and validation” of the overwhelming votes to the APC candidate in Kogi State governorship election.
Adetimehin advised Governor Bello to put behind the legal tussle and concentrate on fulfilling his campaign promises to the people.
According to him, “the people of Kogi deserved more dividends of democracy, and as a party, our major focus is the wellbeing of the people. We cannot afford to disappoint them”.
Adetimehin praised the judiciary for considering all the facts before them to arrive at a sound judgment, the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies for what he terms “civilised dispositions” during the election.
The party also rejoiced with the APC family, especially the Kogi State chapter on what he called “the sweet victory”, adding that the judgment further enhances consolidation of the party in the North Central.
