The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has extended warm congratulations to Mr. Adeleke Adegbite on his re-election as Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ondo State Council.
The party, in a statement issued by its State Publicity Secretary, Alex Kalejaye, described Adegbite as a thoroughbred professional whose wealth of experience and proven leadership qualities have continued to speak volumes in the media landscape of the state.
According to the statement, Adegbite’s return to the saddle was a strong vote of confidence by his colleagues and a testament to his performance during his first term.
“The renewal of your mandate is a clear vote of confidence and a reflection of your outstanding performance during your first term. We are confident you will do even more for the union,” the party stated.
Commending members of the pen profession in the state, the APC lauded their steadfastness, professionalism, and their role in promoting peace and unity across the state.
While urging journalists to maintain their ethical standards, the party called for more emphasis on developmental journalism that can contribute meaningfully to the progress of the state.
The party further appealed for continuous synergy between the media and the current administration to ensure the realisation of its transformation agenda.
It also charged Mr. Adegbite to place high premium on the welfare of journalists in the state, stressing that their invaluable contributions to the sustenance of democracy deserve greater attention, recognition, and institutional support.
