The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State has described the purported agitation for the dissolution of the state party executives by the former State Deputy Governor Alhaji Ali Olanusi and his cohorts as a false proposition that does not qualify for a space in party’s constitution.
This is contained in the response of the party to a statement credit to Olanusi and his cohorts who claimed amongst others that the state executive of the APC compromised by undermining the national leadership of the party via court litigations, therefore, urged the National Working Committee to dissolve the executive and appoint a caretaker committee to run the affairs of the party.
The party in a statement issued and made available to The Hope by its Director of Media and Publicity, Mr. Steve Otaloro, described the cohorts led by Olanusi as serial defectors who would find it difficult to change from their conservative habit.
According to the statement, “they cannot exist within the progressives system. As much as the progressive elements try to cohabit with them, they are ever aversed to it. They cannot change, but hold on to their conservative ideas.
It explained that they contradict what they claimed to belong, adding that nothing disconcert them more than the feelings they are not allowed to use their selfish thoughts to disintegrate the party and the government in the state.
“To them it’s their way, or no way. It’s all about them. They don’t understand the concept of “service above self”. They are not committed to the engendering of trust, confidence, and loyalty to the party and its leadership.
“Alhaji Ali Olanusi received several millions of naira from the present APC-led government in Ondo State to offset his accumulated salary arrears on his removal from office by the previous administration.
” Instead of being grateful to the Governor for his quick response to his plight, he counters with greed by asking for more money. When he was denied, though, knowing fully well the government has complied in excess of the amount due him in emolument and other benefits as stated by the court judgment earlier, he, willingly, turned himself to a critic of the government and an enemy of our party. it noted
