A political support group within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, the Asiwaju Media Team, has warned against attempts by some party members to establish parallel structures, describing such moves as divisive and harmful to party unity.
In a statement made available to Weekend Hope and signed by its Director-General, Prince Emorioloye Owolemi, the group condemned the actions of unnamed individuals allegedly operating outside the recognised organs of the party with the intent to create disunity and confusion.
The group accused those involved of previously collecting funds from opposition figures under the pretext of lobbying for federal appointments, which were later revoked by the Presidency.
“Since that exposure, those responsible have distanced themselves from the genuine APC structures in Ondo State,” the statement said.
“Rather than collaborate with the party to advance good governance, they have resorted to spreading false propaganda aimed at sowing discord between the President and the state leadership.”
Prince Owolemi further alleged that the same individuals, in a bid to reclaim political relevance ahead of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid, were attempting to “float a parallel organ” within the party.
He reiterated that President Tinubu remains the undisputed national leader of the APC, while Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa continues to hold the reins of party leadership in Ondo State.
“Only unity, not factionalism, will guarantee victory in 2027,” he declared, urging all loyal APC members to resist divisive agendas and work collectively for the party’s success at both state and national levels.
