Ondo APC lauds peaceful election, seeks unity

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, Mr Ade Adetimehin, has expressed gratitude to the good people of the state for the peaceful conduct of the governorship election.
He stated that he was humbled by the trust the people of the state had placed in his party to continue on the path of progress under Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.
Adetimehin made this known in a statement signed by the State Director of Media and Publicity for the party, Mr Steve Otaloro.
“We acknowledge the reaction of the PDP regarding the election and their intention to study the outcome. We understand their hesitation in responding to the result, as it is clear they were unprepared for the outcome.
“Instead of engaging with the electorate, the PDP focused on attacking our party and criticising the electoral process. This strategy ultimately put them at a disadvantage,” the statement highlighted.
Adetimehin expressed the party’s confidence in the election, which he said was fundamentally fair and whose integrity would be upheld regardless of any challenges. He added that Governor Aiyedatiwa earned the votes of over 366,000 citizens – an extraordinary achievement.
He emphasised that the APC’s victory in the election was a testament to the party’s commitment to good governance and the trust the people of the state had in its leadership.
“We are proud of our achievements in the state, and we are eager to continue working for the benefit of all citizens,” the statement noted.
The APC urged the PDP and other opposition parties to join the ruling government in working towards the development of the state.
According to the statement, “We believe that by working together, we can achieve great things and make our state an even better place to live.”
In conclusion, the APC congratulated the Governor-elect on his well-deserved victory, thanked the people of the state for their support, and assured them of its commitment to serving them better.
