Ondo APC takes step to strengthen party

Efforts  at strengthening the All Progressives Congress , APC, at the grassroots in Ondo state have commenced with tours by the party’s state Working Committee members.

      Speaking with The Hope about the essence of the tour, the party Publicity Secretary, Mr. Alex Kalejaiye noted that the effort is aimed at further promoting unity and oneness within the fold.

According to him, the tour which, started in Akoko-North East on Monday is to familiarise with the party’s members at the grassroots, and was approved by the governor.

He noted that the decision is mainly to rub minds with the leaders, local government and wards executive members of the party from the locality.

The party Chairman, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, who had led other members of the Working Committee to Ikare-Akoko, and Ifedore local government areas, noted that the party would not tolerate creation of divisions, and promotion of tendencies within the party.

The party boss described indiscipline and lack of commitment to the progress of the party as threats to the strength and development of the State chapter.

He said, “We need to promote and ensure discipline within the party. We would not allow anybody or group to create division within our the party.

“I also wish to challenge every leader and members to be open whenever we meet like this, and state whatever grievances they might be having against one another within the system”.

Adetimehin urged the leaders and the local executive members to sustain regular meetings in all the organs of the party in the State.

A leader from the Akoko-North East local government, Mr. Ade Omotola, described indiscipline as the bane of the problems of APC in the area.

He challenged the leadership of the party to take urgent steps to deal with “the culture of impunity and lack of regards for laid down rules in the party.”

Adetola assured that with consistent loyalty and effective promotion of members welfare, the party would retain its strength in future elections.
