Ondo State House of Assembly says it will continue to cross-fertilize ideas with relevant agencies towards boosting the internally Generated Revenue of the State.
The House expressed confidence that when citizens pay their taxes or levies, they empower the State government with the resources to provide development for the State.

The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation who is also the House Majority leader, Oluwole Ogunmolasuyi led other members of the Committee on a familiarisation visit to the Ondo State Internal Revenue Service (ODIRS), in Akure.
Ogunmolasuyi noted that the development of any state depends on innovative steps aimed at boosting the state’s IGR, hence the need for all hands to be on deck.
While commending the Management of the ODIRS for putting up new initiative which is a clear demonstration of expertise, he charge them to do more towards achieving better results.

According to him, it is a good legacy that must be built upon, commending the State Government for the total overhaul of the internal revenue service of the State.
“The House will continue to support any law that will enhance the activities of the Agency”.
Other lawmakers said that they were happy with what the team was doing, urging them to continue to come up with more good ideas that would better the lots of the State.
They particularly thanked Governor Akeredolu for putting a round peg in a round hole which brought about the laudable results, assuring of legislative backings to enable the Agency record more successes.
Members encouraged the Agency to continue to be proactive as the survival of the proposed LCDAs depends largely on revenue.
Earlier the Chairman ODIRS, Tolu Adegbie in his presentation reeled out their activities and achievements and said that all tax stations across the eighteen local governments have been renovated including building new ones and opening more offices.
Adegbie explained that various tax initiatives were put in place to make tax payment easy for the people at the same time increase revenue base of the State without burden.
He further added that the agency is determined and has been surpasing its target every year owing to the political will of the State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu to achieve such success.
The Chairman noted that electronic data base management system will soon be launched while NIN exercise will kick-start in all the tax stations of the State for appropriate documentation.

He said that the Agency has built a new and accurate storage data and billing system to make their activities seemless, adding that it has been providing support to every revenue generated MDAs in the State to achieve better results.
Adegbie pledged that the Agency will continue to do its best and target excellence in moving the State forward.
