Ondo Assembly lawmaker, Oshati empowers constituents

Chief Olatunji Oshati (Maxima), the representative of Ose constituency at the Ondo State House of Assembly, has once again demonstrated his commitment to his people by empowering hundreds of constituents.

The event, held at Idoani Town Hall, was marked by a display of generosity and appreciation for community development.

During the programme, selected constituents from various trades, including bricklaying, carpentry, and barbering, received essential tools to enhance their businesses.

Additionally, petty traders and elderly individuals were supported with cash gifts. The installation of industrial solar lights across six communities within the local government was also widely praised by community representatives.

A significant highlight of the event was the presentation of meritorious awards to distinguished Ose indigenes who have excelled in their respective careers and positively impacted their communities.

The occasion was graced by several notable figures, including Senator representing Ondo Central Senatirial District ,Adeniyi Adegbonmire (SAN), Timehin Adelegbe representing Ose/Owo federal constituency, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Olamide Oladiji, Ose Local Government Chairman, C.K Ojo, House of Assembly lawmaker,Japhet Oluwatoyin, Dennis Niyi Alonge, Yinka Richard, and other esteemed guests. The APC Ose Local Chairman, Pa. Ladi Tenabe, also led other party stalwarts to the event.

Speaking at the event, Speaker Olamide Oladiji commended Oshati for prioritising the welfare of his constituents. He described him as a trailblazer and a stabilising force within the Assembly.

The Speaker who also served as the chairman of the occasion, praised him for his generosity and acknowledged that he had attended two similar events in quick succession. He described Oshati as a mature and respectful member, and a stabiliser.

He urged the people of Ose to continue to support the lawmaker, describing him as a performer.

The special guest of the event, Senator Adeniyi Adegbonmire, showered encomiums on Oshati, whom he described as a longtime friend and a true representative of his people.

Similarly, Timehin Adelegbe praised Oshati for empowering his people, pledging a sum of N5 million to support future empowerment initiatives.

Adelegbe commended Oshati for embarking on such a laudable empowerment programme even before his election into the State House of Assembly, recognising his commitment to humanitarian efforts.

“I have observed the dedication with which Hon. Oshati has been empowering his people. I appreciate the honourable member’s rare efforts”, he added.

One of the most touching moments of the programme was the recognition of Taiwo Adesuyi, a young champion of a recent spelling competition held in Idoani. Both Oshati and Adelegbe presented him with gifts, further emphasising their dedication to nurturing young talents.

This event marked the 20th edition of the Maxima Vanguard Empowerment Programme, an initiative spearheaded by him to uplift his constituents. The success of the programme further cements his reputation as a people-centric leader devoted to community progress.

In his closing remarks, Oshati expressed gratitude to all attendees and reiterated his commitment to continuous empowerment and infrastructural development.

He also solicited for the people’s support for the administration of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa and called for urgent government intervention in repairing the Oba-Idoani and Ipele-Idoani highways, stressing the importance of accessible roads for economic growth and development in the region.

The lawmaker commended the Aiyedatiwa for his outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of the state.

According to Oshati, under his visionary leadership, the state has witnessed an unprecedented transformation and growth, with significant investments in critical sectors such as infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic empowerment.

“The governor’s tireless efforts to create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive, his administration’s investments in human capital development, and his commitment to improving the lives of our citizens are truly commendable,”he averred.
