An amount of money put at N4.3 billion reportedly lodged by an unknown person in the Ondo State government account with Zenith Bank is causing ripples in the State House of Assembly.

To unravel the mystery behind the lodgement which preceded the present administration, the Acountant-General and the Auditor-General of the state have been summoned before the House.

A decision to invite the two top officers was taken yesterday after reviewing the report of the House Committee on Public Account.

The Speaker,Bamidele Oleyelogun in his ruling invited the Accountant-General and Auditor-General of the state to come with relevant documents on the transaction for further clarification on Thursday, May 14 by 11:00am.

The house demanded the mandate for the opening of the account with Zenith Bank, including who authorized the opening of the account, who are the signatories for the account, when was the account opened, as well as how much was the interest accrued to the state from the deposit.

Oleyelogun equally ruled that an award be given to the state Commissioner for Finance, Mr Wale Akinterinwa for being reliable and transparent.

While commending the state commissioner for the good and diligent job in discovering the hidden fund which is in the interest of the state, especially at the period when the purse of the state is lean, members thanked him for the major discovery.
