Members of the Ondo State House of Assembly have called on the Federal Government to consider the dualisation of the deplorable Akure/Ondo road in order to avert loss of lives and properties.
Speaking through the Speaker of the House, Olamide Oladiji, the lawmakers condemned the deplorable condition of the road, saying it is high time the Federal Government gave all federal roads in the state necessary attention.
This was contained in a press statement made available to newsmen by the Chairman, House Committee on Information, Olatunji Oshati on Monday in Akure.
According to the Speaker, despite being a federal road, adequate and temporary measures would soon be given to it by the State Government through the intervention of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure.
Oladiji who sympathized with motorists plying the road, assured that the difficulties encountered will soon become a thing of the past.
He later, appreciated the Governor of the State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu for his various landmark achievements recorded in the past 6 year, particularly in the area of infrastructure and security.
The Speaker further expressed pleasure over the current palliative measure put in place by the state government, assuring that it would soon bring smiles to the faces of individuals across the state.
