Ondo State Badminton team has once again flown the flag of the state high at the just concluded Under 16 and 19, 2019 All Racket Festival held at the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile -Ife, Osun State.
Abiola Motunrayo ,Aina Ayomide and Loveth Olaoye won gold medals each for the Sunshine State in the U-19 Girls, U 16 Boys and U- 16 Girls to earn the state the over all South West champions in Badminton.
Adegbite Oyinkansola came second in the U16 – Girls, Afolabi Philips and Omagbemi Boluwatife ended their game with third positions in U-19 Boys and Girls respectively.
In other Racket Games, the State won one gold ,two Silver and two bronze in Squash including one silver and two bronze medals in Tennis to place them second to Oyo State which emerged the over all winner of the competition.
According to the organiser of the competition, Mr Adekunle Adebiyi the (All Racket Festival) is organised every year to promote Racket Games among Youths in South West States every year.
Ondo State Badminton Coach, Tunmise Olalehin during a telephone interview with the Sporting Hope praised the team for doing the state proud at the Festival.
He said with the newly discovered Badminton players , the state still conquered the South West by repeating the feat they achieved during the National Youth Games in Ilorin.
“I thank God Almighty, the Ondo State Government and the Management of the Sports Council for their unwavering support giving to all round sports in the State”.
He also commended the immense contributions of the State Badminton Association, Mr Olu Adekunke Ajanaku for his role in making the state’s Badminton team a cynosure of all eyes at any competitions.

23rd Jul 2021how do i join the club am a die hard fan of badminton but dont know were is played in ondo state , please i need to join and start training soonest hoping to get a responds soon. thanks in anticipation
