Ondo basketball association to revamp facilities

The newly appointed Chairman of the Ondo State Basketball Association, Mr Francis Emmanuel Gbiri has assured the people of Ondo state and stakeholders of massive improvement in the runnings of the game under his watch.
Gbiri in a statement issued in Akure, stated that the plans have been concluded to popularise the game and revive the state basketball team to an enviable height,worthy of competing with other teams nationwide.
Some of the plans enumerated by Gbiri include, renovation of the prestigious basketball hall in Akure,establishment of basketball courts across the senatorial districts,improved welfare packages for coaches and players.
Others are aggressive sponsorship drive to attract and involve stakeholders in developing the game of basketball in Ondo state.
While calling on the state government,affluence in the society, corporate organisations to partner basketball in Ondo state, the basketball chairman also said the association will synergise with institutions and to involve newly discovered talents across the state.
Gbiri also listed various committee members appointed to support his administration in achieving the set target, and urged them to bring their wealth of experience to the people’s game.
According to him, some committees have been approved to help achieve success.
Some of the committees included Technical,Marketing and Media/ Public Relations Committee.
