Ondo begins agric show, food fair

Ondo state International Agricultural Show and Food Fair celebration will today commence in Akure, the state capital.
The state Chairman of Agricultural Commodities’ Association, Mr Gbenga Obaweya, disclosed this in a chat yesterday.
He stated that the theme for this year’s celebration is “Entrenching Proper Structures for Sustainable Agric Business Development”.
Obaweya further stressed that the event will feature; Maggot production for Animal feeds and Odour prevention; Grasscutter rearing, training, women empowerment, Stevia cultivation and Cluster and cooperative culture.
He reiterated that the Red Gold Project would be projected for the economic prosperity of the state, while celebrating the Red Gold which is a new era of celebrating the oil palm value chain which had great potential for job creation and economic prosperity.
The celebration, Obaweya informed, will feature the conferment of an award of “Distinguished Champion of Red Gold in Nigeria to the state Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu as a mark of honour for all his efforts towards promoting the oil palm value chain in the state and the country at large.
“We have been able to get words from our sister neighbouring states in the southwest for participation and participants from Malaysia to celebrate the Red Gold with us”, he said.
