Ondo begins counter-verification of healthcare services

|The process of counter verification of the quality of health care services at the various Primary Healthcare Centres(PHC) has began in Ondo State.
Executive Secretary, Ondo State Primary Health Care Development Agency(OSPHCDA), Dr. Francis Akanbiemu disclosed this during a state level review meeting.
According to him, the process is aimed at bringing improvement to the quality of service provided for citizens of the state at the PHC level.
While welcoming the national team to the state, he explained that the team was on ground to verify the result of both OSPHCDA and the state Hospitals Management Board (HMB).
His words: “Ondo State is back in the implementation of the performance based financing project which is funded by the World bank.
” As part of the reengineering process of the state, we are determined to improve the quality of healthcare services at the PHC level.”
Addressing the gathering, representative of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, Hyeladzira Garnvwa, described counter verification as a quarterly exercise saying “we will be going to the different Local Government Areas. It is a routine work which is part of the routine management.”
Project Coordinator, Nigerian State Health Insurance Project(NSHIP), Paulinius Omode noted that local government teams are already on the field carrying out necessary activities for the success of the exercise.
