Ondo communities beg for infrastructural devt from forest IGR

Residents of over 12 communities in Ondo West local government area of Ondo State, have called on the state government to provide them with infrastructures development which would serve as part of democracy dividend.
They made the appeal while interacting with members of Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria, FOMWAN who visited the community to sensitize them on the ongoing Continuous Voter registration exercise.
The communities within the axis of Lipakala to laje comprising of Omotadole, Onitaye, Olosan1 Olosan 2, Ilutuntun, Igbo, Laje, Lagos, Iluha, Ago Ewure Oba Dejori and its baale appealed that government should come to their aids on infrastructural development.
During interview, with The Hope, the residents expressed displeasure that their communities have been neglected even when revenue were generated from their forest.
The Secretary of the Olosan 1 community, Mr Akinsanmi Williams disclosed that the communities do not have any school constructed for their children except the dilapidated and abandoned one established since 1955.
“The community has to contribute to build a classroom apartment where all the six arms of the Primary school made use off. No adequate teachers because government sent only two, while the community hire additional one to make up just three teachers.
“Also, we do not have portable water supply,” he declared .
According to him, government is expected to cater for the communities because they equally participate in electoral processes, but never enjoy dividends of democracy.
he Oloja of Obu kekere in the community, said road has been their major issue coupled with other infrastructures like road, provision of water, electricity, schools and other benefits .
The communities situated along Lipakala and laje is of about 16miles away from the Lipakala communities.
They also hinted that they have not seen any officers from appropriate authority in regards to the ongoing continuous Voters registration which has commenced since yesterday.
