The Ondo State Commissioner of Police, CP Asabi Abiodun, has condemned the attack on Dr. Adebunmi Osadahun, Commissioner for Women Affairs in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mrs Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, made this known in a statement issued and made available to The Hope Metro.
Omisanya said that preliminary investigation revealed that the Commissioner was in the Akoko area to see to the distribution of food palliatives of the Government.
The investigation further revealed that she was attacked by an assailant identified as Olumide Awolumate , while having a meeting with some of their party members in the area.
“The CP has ordered that a thorough investigation be carried out and the case transferred to the SCIID, Akure, for further probe into what led to the assault,” the statement read.
