The newly appointed Senior Special Assistants and Special Assistants to Ondo State Governor from Owo and Ose Local Government areas have been advised to work assiduously for the  success of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming governorship election in  the State.

The State Deputy Governor, Dr. Olayide Adelami, who spoke in Owo while hosting the new appointees at the APC Campaign Office, called for fresh strategies to ensure that past election results recorded by Owo and Ose Local Government areas are doubled in the forthcoming election.

“Results by the APC in recent elections in Owo have been between 35,000 and 36,000 votes.

“Now is the time to double the figures to a minimum of 70,000 votes through strategic mobilization,” the Deputy Governor said.

Adelami stated that the new appointees must bring to bear their political capacities and connections from the unit, ward, and local government levels to make the forthcoming governorship election outstandingly different by recording a landmark victory for the APC in the November 16 election in the state.

“You must mobilize the electorate to ensure that the APC records at least 70,000 votes out of the 110,000 registered voters, as indicated by the Independent National Electoral Commission,” he said.

The deputy governor took the opportunity to appreciate Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for appointing the new state officials, expressing confidence that their addition at this time will boost the support base of the Aiyedatiwa administration.

He said, “The essence of your appointment at this time is to mobilize support for the Aiyedatiwa administration.”

Adelami also charged the appointees to be agents of unity within the established structures of the party, adding that their success would determine their political future in the government.

Earlier, the Special Assistant to the Governor on Political and Public Policy, Prince Ademola Adewale, presented the appointees to the Deputy Governor, assuring that they would add value to the political fortune of Aiyedatiwa.

The high point of the event was the cutting of the tape to the relationship office, where the Deputy Governor will regularly engage with the people.
