The Governor of Ondo State, Hon. Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has promised to commence work on the proposed Deep Seaport project, in the riverine areas of the state next year.
The Governor gave this assurance during the continuation of his statewide campaign tour in Okitipupa on Thursday.
He also pledged to facilitate the establishment of an airspace facility in the Okitipupa Local Government Area of the state.
“This will make it easier for investors to access the region, facilitating business and economic opportunities,” he noted.
Aiyedatiwa added that a 20-kilometre road construction project in the Southern Senatorial District has already been approved, aiming to enhance connectivity in the region.
Addressing unemployment, the Governor highlighted his administration’s ongoing initiatives to empower youths through entrepreneurship programmes, enabling them to become wealth creators and contributors to the state’s prosperity.
Aiyedatiwa acknowledged the foundational infrastructure established by the late former governor, Olusegun Agagu, and promised to expand upon Agagu’s achievements, especially in road development.
At a meeting with traditional rulers at the Okitipupa Local Government Secretariat, the Abodi of Ikale Land, Oba Alayeluwa George Babatunde Faduyile, Adegun II, spoke on behalf of the monarchs.
He expressed deep appreciation for Governor Aiyedatiwa, remarking that, true to his name, “Lucky,” the Governor had indeed brought fortune to the Ikale people.
“We are blessed to have a leader like you; there is already a sense of peace and stability in the land,” the Abodi said.
He prayed for the Governor’s continued success, confidently predicting a favourable outcome for him in the upcoming election.
Oba Faduyile also encouraged the governor to remember the Ikale people’s needs.
He appealed for urgent intervention on key road projects, particularly the roads linking Omotosho to Idi Odo and Ode Aye to Ore.
Additionally, the monarch requested a swift completion of the ongoing electricity restoration project to end the region’s struggles with power outages.
Addressing a large gathering of enthusiastic supporters at Methodist Primary School in Okitipupa, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa conveyed his gratitude and was visibly moved by the impressive turnout.
“Seeing each and every one of you here today fills me with deep appreciation, your presence speaks volumes about your unwavering support and commitment to our administration and the APC.”
Aiyedatiwa urged the crowd to transform this display of loyalty and passion into decisive action on election day.
“I encourage you to let this love and commitment resonate through your votes on November 16, this is the most powerful way to ensure our work continues.” He added
He reminded them of the importance of their support in sustaining Ondo State’s development and stability.
“Your votes are essential to keep the progress going and to protect the future we are building together, every single vote matters in securing a prosperous future for our region, where our shared vision for Ondo State can fully come to life.” He said
