The leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ondo East Local Government has passed vote of confidence in Ade Adetimehin- led executive at the State level.
During a solidarity visit to the party secretariat in Akure, the local government party leadership led by its Chairman, Olamigoke Francis dissociated themselves from the activities of Chief Kelly Agboola following a purported elders caucus meeting.
The party leadership condemned Mr Agboola over his disparaging write-up on social media which they claimed is capable of dividing the party.
The Ondo East leadership of the party, therefore, called on the state executive of the party to immediately set up a panel of enquiry to look into the matter.
“We the leaders and members of our great party in Ondo East Local Government wish to express our implicit confidence in our State Chairman Mr. Ade Adetimehin in his ability and capability to continue to provide the needed quality leadership for our party in Ondo State.
“The state party chairman’s leadership acumen over the years has resulted in victory for our party in various elections at all levels from the national, state as well as local government and as a result of this he deserved our unalloyed support which we shall not hesitate to continue to give to him so that he can continue to lead our party to the desired enviable position among the parties in the state.
“The leadership and members of our party in Ondo East Local Government also wish to dissociate ourselves from the activities of Chief Agboola Kelly regarding the purported elders caucus meeting called by him and the write-up which he posted on social media disparaging the person of our indefatigable State Chairman Mr. Ade Adetimehin.
Speaking on behalf of Adetimehin, the Central Senatorial District Chairman, Festus Aregbesola appreciated the local government party members for the confidence reposed in the state leadership, assuring that their message will be delivered according.
While noting that the issue will be investigated, Aregbesola enjoined members to continue to work for the progress of the party and maintain absolute peace.
