Ondo East LG presents ₦4.6bn 2025 budget estimates to legislative council

The Executive Chairman of Ondo East Local Government, Joshua Ogunduyilemi, has presented the 2025 budget estimates totalling ₦4,616,821,844.94 to the Ondo East Legislative Council.
The budget presentation took place at the council secretariat in Bolorunduro, headquarters of the local government.
Speaking during the presentation, Ogunduyilemi said, “It gladdens my heart to stand in your midst today to formally present this year’s 2025 budget estimates tagged ‘OUR EASE’ to the legislative arm of government for consideration and subsequent approval.”
According to the breakdown of the 2025 estimates, ₦3,434,821,864.94 was earmarked for recurrent expenditure, while ₦1,182,000,000 was allocated for capital projects.
Expressing appreciation during the presentation, the council boss thanked the Leader of the House, Adeniyi Adeoye, and other honourable members for granting him the privilege to lay the budget before the House.
He urged the lawmakers to give the budget thorough scrutiny, noting, “It is hoped that if the budget is considered and approved by this Honourable House, priority will be given to areas of need for our people, especially capital projects that will enable this administration to deliver the dividends of democracy to the good people of Ondo East Local Government.”
Ogunduyilemi reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the lives of residents, stressing that developmental projects would be prioritised.
He called on residents to support the administration by fulfilling their civic responsibilities, particularly in the prompt payment of taxes.
“When there is money in the coffers of the local government, that is when we will be able to embark on developmental projects,” he stated.
Emphasising synergy between arms of government, the chairman said, “Without cooperation, no meaningful development can take place. I solicit collaboration between the two arms of government, and the speedy consideration and approval of the budget estimates.”
In his remarks, the Leader of the House, Hon. Adeniyi Adeoye, commended the chairman for his track record as the head of the Transition Committee, which he said contributed to his resounding victory at the recently concluded chairmanship election.
He assured the people of Ondo East that the 2025 budget estimates would be meticulously examined to ensure they positively impact the lives of citizens.
The presentation was witnessed by key stakeholders, including the Vice Chairman, Seyi Oguntimehin; honourable members of the Legislative Council; Clerk of the House, (Mrs) Apeke Catherine; Secretary to the Local Government; local government officials; staff; APC party leaders; and other dignitaries.
