Residents of Ago Ireti (Settlement of Hope) have hailed the historic victory of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa in the just-concluded governorship election in Ondo State.
The residents described the governor as a responsive and empathetic leader, stating that his victory at the poll is a testament to his acceptance by the electorate in Ondo State.
While referring to Aiyedatiwa as the Moses of their Israel, they expressed gratitude to him for promptly addressing their concerns during challenging times.
They also thanked the Deputy Governor, Dr Olayide Adelami, for supporting them when in need.Speaking to The Hope, the Secretary and spokesperson of the settlement, Mr Salaudeen Adeyemi, said the entire community stood firmly behind the governor during the election.
“He achieved what has never been done in Ondo State by winning all 18 local government areas. We pray that his success in Ondo State will be remarkable.
“He has been a fantastic leader, and his name shall remain in the history books of the state. We always support the state government with prayers, which we hold three times a week.
“He feeds us and supports us. We owe him our loyalty. We made sure to turn out en masse during the election, and we are delighted with the outcome,” he said.
Similarly, Mama Rachael Agbede, Mr Olu Solomon, and Mr Lawrence Ogunduboye described Governor Aiyedatiwa as the Moses of their Israel.
They expressed optimism about the implementation of the governor’s directive for an upward review of their monthly stipend, given the current economic realities in Nigeria.
Recall that the residents had expressed concerns about the delay in the payment of their ₦10,000 monthly stipend in September.
Governor Aiyedatiwa immediately ordered the payment and approved an upward adjustment of the stipend.
