Ondo Election tribunal to commence sitting

The Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Akure High Court premises will soon commence sitting.
Giving this indication during a chat with The Hope was the Tribunal Secretary, Sir Livinus Chibuike Ugwu.
He said there have been several interlocutory applications bordering on inspection of electoral materials used during the February 23, 2019 elections.
Regarding the National Assembly elections, he disclosed that Mega Party had filed a petition challenging its unlawful exclusion from the ballot list for the senatorial election.
He also said that there have been three other applications for House of Representatives with APC filing two while PDP filed one.
The required days for the filing of petition for the National Assembly has however lapsed.
He stated that there was no petition regarding the election of the House of Assembly as at the time of filing this report, though the period of filing petitions has not lapsed.
He further informed that when all the petitions are in, there would be a day for inaugural sitting before the actual sitting will start.
