Ondo FA crisis: Parties sheath sword

The lingering crisis rocking Ondo State Football Association over the years were 80 percent resolved, as football elders yesterday brokered truce between the two gladiators.
The Chairman of the State Football Association, Otunba Dele Ajayi while addressing journalists after more than four hours meeting held at the state sports complex in Akure, said himself and his deputy have decided to sheath their swords in the interest of football in the state.
Ajayi said,”both of us are one big family, the elders have called us and we can’t go against the decision of our elders, so we have resolved to abide by the resolution of the elders.
According to him, we are one, Dele Ologbese is my friend, we belong to same church, we sat in same chair in the Church and we can’t fight. It’s crystal clear that some people are between us.
The State FA chairman, added that they have decided to put those people behind them, in order to move football forward in the state, adding that the issues have been 80 percent settle”.
He added that tomorrow, Saturday June 15, they are going to have a larger meeting where all the factions involved will meet and put permanent end to the wranglings.
“Both of us will work together to ensure that the state darling team, Sunshine Stars win a continental ticket next season, he added.
On his part, the deputy chairman, Otunba Dele Ologbese conceded that the two parties have agreed to put the wranglings behind them in the interest of the round leather game.
“We want to make sure that we take football to greater heights in all ramifications, that is why we resolved among ourselves to allow peace to reign permanently in Ondo state football”.
Ologbese added that “there is nothing to gain from wrangling, that is why we say representatives of the two parties will be in the meeting where we are going to holistically address all the gray areas.
“I want to assure every one that this Saturday history will be made in Ondo state football development. We are going to show to the whole world that we are capable of resolving our differences amicably without any interference from outside the state,” he concluded.
Former chairman of the association in the state Mr Dele Ogungbemi, who spoke on behalf of the elders noted that the people will know that the association are genuinely interested in football development in the state.
He added that after the final truce on Saturday the association is going to take football to another dimension in the state.
“I’m assuring the people of the State that on Saturday all the factions will come to term 100 percent”, he said.
