The board of the Ondo State Football Association (FA) has inaugurated a five-man panel of inquiry to investigate a petition written against the leadership of the Ondo State Football Coaches Association over allegations of misuse of power and abuse of office.
The committee members include Chief Dele Ogungbemi (Chairman), Mr. Oluwabonmi Mike (Vice Chairman), Pastor Henry Akingboju (Member), Pastor Dotun Omoogun (Member), while Mr. Femi Atolagbe will serve as the Secretary.
The inauguration ceremony was held at the Nigeria Police Officers’ Mess, Akure, where the Acting Chairman of the State Football Association, Hon. Oladimeji Abimbola, urged the committee to carry out a thorough and unbiased investigation.
Represented by a board member, Mr. Alex Daudu, Abimbola described the committee members as men of integrity who would not compromise the truth.
According to him, “The committee has till the 11th of November, 2025, to submit its report. We have no doubt that the members will do a thorough job and produce an unbiased report that will be acceptable to all.”
In his acceptance speech on behalf of other members, the committee chairman, Chief Dele Ogungbemi, thanked the Ondo State Football Association for entrusting them with what he described as a challenging but achievable task.
He assured the board that the committee would swing into action immediately and deliver its report within the stipulated timeframe.
“We are going to be diligent with the assignment and come up with a report that will be fair, objective, and acceptable to everyone involved,” Ogungbemi stated.
It would be recalled that Coach Blessing B. Perez and Coach Jephthah Akinboboye had, in separate petitions, accused the Chairperson of the Ondo State Football Coaches Association of misuse of power and abuse of office.
