Ondo FA trains coaches

Ondo State Football Association (FA) in collaboration with Football Coaches Association of Africa (FCAAN) have trained over 100 coaches in the South West region.
The coaching course for uncertificated coaches held in Akure with five representatives each from, Lagos,Ogun,Ekiti,Oyo and Osun states.
The Ondo State FA Chairman, Otunba Dele Ajayi in a chat with newsmen said the association decided to train the coaches from the grassroots to ensure that talents abound in the state and the entire south West were discover by competent hands. He said without good coaches there can not be good players.
Ajayi added that the training will elevate young coaches and also create employment for the youth.
He said; “The training will not be one off programme ,we will continue to train and retraining our coaches ,this is grade (F) God willing next year, it will be grade (E).”
He charged the coaches to go back to their various local governments to show case the knowledge they have acquired.
The Director of FCAAN coaches education and the training chief instructor, Mr Henry Abiodun urged the coaches not to wait for the time they will have a club, saying they start with a player.
He admonished them to go all out to make use of what they have learnt adding that failure to put it in practice is tantamount to waste of time.
The General Manager of the state sports council, Mr Henry Babatunde lauded the organisers for the step taken in raising the bar of the game in the state.
Participants from both in the state and states commended the organizers for the training.
