Ondo First Lady honours babies of The Year with gifts

Wife of the Ondo State governor, Arabinrin Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu early has visited the State Mother and Child Hospital, and Arakale Health Centre to present cash gifts and baby items to newly born babies.

At the Mother and Child hospital, Oke-Aro where Mrs Akeredolu met 17 newly born babies in the post-natal ward, special gifts were presented to the first, second and third babies born in 2020, while other babies received cash gifts.

The first baby in mother and child hospital, baby Adedeko, was delivered at 12.02am, second baby Ayodele, a set of twins born between 12:35am and 1:00am; while the third delivery was baby Akinbinu, who also received a special gift.

At the Arakale Health Centre, Mrs. Akeredolu met six New Year babies.

The first baby in 2020, baby Lamidi, was born at 1:30am, second baby Oriloye 6:00am, and the third baby 8.00am.

Addressing the nursing mothers, Mrs. Akeredolu charged them on exclusive breastfeeding, describing it as the best for the growth of their children.

She also enjoined their fathers to collaborate with their wives in the upbringing of the children and not to be absentee fathers.

She used the medium to also present new year package to the workers of the hospitals who committed their time to ensure the mothers had safe deliveries.

Thanking her kind gesture to celebrate the New year with them, Mrs Ololade Adedeko commended the generosity of Mrs Akeredolu and prayed for the successful re-election of governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu.

Also speaking on behalf of the management and staff of Mother and Child Hospital, the Head of Nursing Services, Mrs. Olaoba thanked the First Lady for extending a hand of love to them.

Dignitaries who accompanied the First Lady to the hospitals included the state Commissioner for Health,Dr. Wahab Adegbenro, his counterpart for Women Affairs, and Social Development, Mrs. Titi Adeyemi, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Health, Dr. Dele Durojaiye , Permanent Secretary, Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Ikuomola, Executive Secretary of the Hospitals Management Board, Dr. Francis Akanbiemu, and some members of the Foundation for Wives of Ondo State Officials and Female Political Appointees, FOWOSO.
