Ondo flags off annual school census

The Ondo State Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology is set to launch the Annual School Census (ASC), aimed at enhancing the educational landscape of the state.
In an invitation signed by Obajulaye Oluwadairo for the Permanent Secretary, Mrs Folashade Adegoke, the ASC is a statutory exercise designed to collect detailed information about all educational institutions within the state, including both public and private schools.
The event, which will be flagged off on Monday, June 3, at Mega Primary School in Irowo, Akure, is to update essential indicators that aid in decision-making and attract international development partners to foster socio-economic growth in Ondo State.
The invitation reads in part: “The Annual School Census (ASC) is a statutory exercise carried out by the State to gather information about the school system, and all educational institutions available in the State, both Public and Private, to update special indicators needed for making decisions and importantly accessing International Development Partners that could bring about socio-economic development to the state”.
“The Honourable Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Mr Laolu Akindolire, will be flagging off the commencement of the school census exercise in the state and the training of enumerators.”
