Barrack Eagles will tomorrow trade tackles with Zion Warriors FC in the final match of the Ondo State Football League, after both sides defeated their opponents in the semi finals.

Barrack Eagles had played 1-1 draw with Sarajoe FC in the regulation time of the first Semi finals decided at Ondo State Sports complex, Akure.

The Eagles later knocked Sarajoe FC 4 – 2 in the penalty shootout of the encounter.

Barrack Eagles broke the deadlock in the 48th minute as Fidelis Jeremiah fired a shot to the top corner of the net to give his side the lead.

Seven minutes later, Sarajoe FC got a leveller through Monday Glory who converted from spot after penalty was awarded against Barrack Eagles.

Remainder of the match failed to produce further goals as the Barrack Eagles set final date with Barack Eagles having defeated Sarajoe 4-2 in penalty shootout.

Zion Warriors FC also defeated Seeway 4-3 in penalty shootout in the second semifinals of the competition.

Both sides played a goaless draw in the regulation before Zion Warriors emerged winner to face Barrack Eagles in the final. While Seeway will clash with Sarajoe FC in the battle for third place

In a chat with newsmen, Zion Warriors FC coach, Oseni Rafiu thanked God for the success of his side, saying both teams played good football.

Rafiu said: Despite defeating the fact that we won the match, we are going back to drawing board to work on some area we are not doing well, we will try all we could to ensure the team play well and win the final.

Barrack Eagles coach Damilola Fadeyi commended his side for winning the match despite little itches they encounter while coming to honour the match.

According to him, “we are going to come out better in the final and prove to football loving people of the state that we are the football team in Ondo State.

Barrack Eagles, I’m happy for the success of the game. My team will play very well in the final, we will come out stronger and better.

We are going to show Ondo State that we are the best football club in the state.”
