By Jubril Bada

As the November 16 off-cycle governorship election in Ondo State approaches, the state Chairman of the Labour Party (LP), Mr Abiodun Agbaje, along with the State Working Committee (SWC) of the party, has expressed unwavering support for and confidence in the state Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC), Mrs Oluwatoyin Babalola, and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The party encouraged the Commission to ensure a free, fair, and transparent electoral process in the upcoming election.

In a statement signed by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mr Ayo Williams, the LP and its SWC noted that the INEC Chairman and all Commission staff have a responsibility to contribute significantly to Nigeria’s progress by remaining impartial in the conduct of elections.

The statement reaffirmed that the LP remains committed to democratic principles and the rule of law, with the belief that INEC’s impartiality and professionalism are essential to the success of the election.

The party also urged all stakeholders to support INEC in its efforts to conduct a credible election and called on its members and supporters to remain peaceful and law-abiding throughout the electoral process.
