Ondo Govt reaffirms commitment to support women organisations

Women in Ondo State have gathered to reflect on their shared journeys and celebrate their achievements.
The event, marked by the symbolic lighting of candles, served as a powerful reminder of the trailblazing women who have broken barriers in business, leadership, and professional fields. Each candle represented hope, resilience, and unity, inspiring attendees to renew their commitment to a future where every woman’s potential is fully realised.
The ceremony highlighted both the legacy of past accomplishments and the collective ambition to drive inclusivity and excellence in all spheres of life.
Speaking at the event, the Special Adviser to the Ondo State Governor on Women’s Affairs, Dr Seun Osamaye, reiterated the commitment of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa’s administration to promoting and supporting women’s groups in achieving their visions for women in the state.
The International Federation of Business and Professional Women (BPW International) envisions a world where women have equal status at all levels of society, participating alongside men in decision-making with mutual respect, thereby fostering a more balanced and peaceful world.
Osamaye highlighted various government initiatives aimed at developing the business, professional, and leadership potential of women through advocacy, education, mentoring, networking, skill-building, and economic empowerment programmes.
She invited the leadership of BPW to visit the training centres under the Ministry of Women’s Affairs for an on-the-spot assessment and to mentor trainees.
In response, the Chapter President, Pastor Grace Abebi, stated that BPW International’s goals include encouraging women and girls to develop their professional and leadership potential, undertaking lifelong education and training, and using their abilities for the benefit of others locally, nationally, and internationally.
She expressed gratitude to the governor of Ondo State for providing the necessary resources to ensure that women and girls become self-reliant.
