Ahead of the April gubernatorial primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State, chieftains of the party have thrown their weight behind governorship aspiration of Mrs. Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo.

Recalled that the ward chairmen of the APC in Ikare-Akoko, had declared their support for the only female aspirant on Sunday.

In a latest development,, the APC Chairman of all Chairmen in Akoko South West Local Government area of the State, Mr Oki Abiodun, expressed unfeigned interest in the governorship ambition of Funmilayo Waheed-Adekojo.

Oki who noted that no female politician had ever occupied the exalted seat in the state, called for more support for Waheed-Adekojo to emerge as the candidate of the party in the forthcoming primary election slated for April.

The Chairman of Ward Chairmen in the area, Mr Adeyemi John, extolled the virtues of the APC governorship aspirant, expressing optimism about her emergence as the candidate of the party.

They also urged the leadership of the party to rally support for her, adding that the jinx against the emergence of a female governor must be broken.
