As Ondo State governorship election slated for November 16 is fast approaching ,the New Nigerian Peoples Party (NNPP), has expressed hope as a formidable opposition to slug it out with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) and win the election.

The State Chairman of the party, Pastor Peter Olagookun, stated this in an interview with journalists in Akure the state capital

Olagookun said the party’s greatest strength lies with the masses in the state, just as he explained the readiness to invoke the party’s structure to mobilize the entire masses of the state to defeat the ruling APC.

According to him, the State chapter of the NNPP enjoy the full support of the party’s national leader and prominent politician in the country, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso who has shown willingness to join forces with other high profile politicians and people of Ondo State to win the coming governorship election for the party.

His words “The NNPP rely on the support of the good people of Ondo State to change the narratives.

“This election is very important to us and we have every chance to win and we will not miss the opportunity to take the power from the ruling APC party.

“The election is going to be between the NNPP and APC as the NNPP is now the most formidable opposition party in the state that has a visible structures across the 18 local government and 203 wards in the state without factions or crisis of any sort.

“As it stands now our party is the only party in State that is giving the ruling party APC an headache and sleepless nights as the NNPP has been widely accepted by the good people of Ondo State”.

Olagookun also said that the NNPP is the only political party that is committed to the welfare and needs of the people,adding that the party is ready to replicate in the state, the numerous people-centred initiatives the people of Kano State are currently enjoying under the NNPP -led government by Governor Abba Yusuf.
