He explained that all efforts are geared towards retrieving the illegally acquired arms and ammunitions that have entered into the wrong hands to guarantee the safety of all and sundry .
The Hope Metro had reported that some thugs suspected to be working for Democratic Party PDP were nabbed with unauthorized guns by the police in Ifon and they were charged to court and were consequently remanded at the prison custody.
The police spokesman hinted that the police commissioner, Mr Bolaji Salami has vowed to apprehend anybody caught disturbing the existing peace in the state .
Salami having observed some pocket of problems springing up in some parts of the State during political campaigns, has on two occasions warned party leaders to advised their followers on the need to eschew violence.
His words, “the police boss has held series of meetings with Party chieftains in the State, and warned them against violence during ,before and after the incoming governorship election .
“The Police Command will not hesitate to deal with anyone found sponsoring or inducing anybody to perpetrate violence in the name of politics .
“Those thinking that violence will mar the success of the the incoming Governorship election on October 10, 2020, should know that the security would be tight.
“The election will be well pronounced, proactive and decisive that it will be easier for a Carmel’s head to pass through the eye of a needle than for any citizen of the state to experience any act of thuggery or political violence .
He therefore advised Party leaders to focused on campaign manifesto and discourage their Party Youth Wings from any act capable of creating violence because police will not fold its hands and watch people disturbing the peace in the state .
