The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has collated results from 15 out of the 18 local government areas that make up Ondo State in the November 2024 gubernatorial election.

The State Returning Officer, Prof. Olayemi Durotimi Akinwumi from the Federal University of Lokoja, Kogi State, announced this at the ongoing collation centre in Akure, the state capital.

The APC cleared all the 15 Local Governments declared so far by INEC returning officers.

Candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 301,113 votes, while that of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) secured a total of 97,051 votes in the 15 LGAs announced so far.

Meanwhile, the INEC State Returning Officer adjourned the collation process until 12 noon today, stating that the delay in receiving results was due to the distance of the remaining local governments.

The three local government areas yet to be collated are Odigbo, Ilaje, and Ese-Odo.

The PDP agent criticised the results collated for Idanre, citing the non-holding of elections in Ofoso and the snatching of ballots in Alade/Atosin.

The returning officer promised to look into the complaint raised by the PDP agent.
