By Josephine Oguntoyinbo

Barely 48 hours to the close of nomination for the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial primary, in Ondo state, a former senator, Yele Omogunwa has identified only three contenders as most serious among those jostling for the plum seat.
Omogunwa, a former Commissioner in the state gave the appraisal in a comment he posted on social media platforms yesterday.
He named the serious contenders for the July 20 party primaries as Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Mr Isaacs Kekemeke and a legal practitioner, Mr. Olusola Oke.
Already, 12 contenders including the incumbent governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Mr Ife Oyedele, Ambassador Olusola Iji, Mr Isaacs Kekemeke and Mr Olusola Oke have obtained the nomination forms.
Others include Mr Akin Awodeyi, Dr Olusegun Abraham, Mr Jimi Odimayo, Chief Bukola Adetula, Mr Olayide Adelami, Dr. Natheniel Adojutelegan and Mrs Jumoke-Anifowose Ajasin.
Omogunwa, Chairman of the seven man screening committee of the Unity Forum expressed regrets that the inability of the 10 aspirants under the forum to pick one candidate has given Akeredolu the advantage.
He identified inflated ego and leadership failure as the bane of the APC members in their search for a candidate and insisted after a thorough assessment, that only three of them are serious contenders.
