The People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has unveiled its Deputy Governorship candidate, Olanrewaju Adewole.

Adewole is a graduate, a banker turned businessman, and a farmer.

Addressing newsmen during a press briefing held at the party’s Secretariat in Akure, the Governorship candidate for the party, Comrade Babatunde Alli, said he will run an inclusive government, noting that PRP is deliberate about every step it takes in achieving good governance for the people.

According to him, the choice of Adewole is in tune with political calculations that favor the central district.

Alli, while expressing worry about events of the past few months where the state was thrown into political turmoil, further assured that PRP is the best alternative ready to serve the people and be held accountable for all its actions and inactions.

He also assured that the issue of local government autonomy will be given priority.

“The issue of local government autonomy is not an issue at all. We will create 204 Community Development Associations (CDA) in each ward. We believe that LG autonomy is the best platform to groom the right leaders,” he added.

In the same vein, he condemned recent comments credited to NNPP Governorship candidate, Gbenga Edema on the matter, saying he has no moral grounds to chide Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

Giving his remarks, the Deputy Governorship candidate, Adewole, said the opportunity to serve is a rare privilege.

He, however, assured the people of Ondo State of his readiness to work to birth an enviable state.

Also in attendance at the meeting were leaders of the party as well as women leaders from across the 18 local government areas of the state.
