Ondo Health Commissioner tasks staff on greater commitment

By Kemi Olatunde

Ondo State health workers have been urged to intensify their commitment to work in order to maintain the sector’s ongoing success.

Commissioner for Health, Dr. Banji Awolowo Ajaka gave the charge at the first 2025 prayer meeting with Health Ministry staff in Akure on Thursday.

He urged them to strive harder in the new year and work in tandem with the robust health sector budget.

“You must hit the ground running starting from today. Let us plan ahead in order to achieve more,” he said.

While congratulating the staff for their achievements in the previous year, Dr. Ajaka called for continued excellence and teamwork, urging them to view one another as a family and to maintain a forgiving spirit.

In his vote of thanks, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Dr. Adeniran Ikuomola, thanked God for the sector’s progress and praised the Commissioner’s leadership.

He assured Dr. Ajaka of continued support from the staff and encouraged them to adhere to the civil service rules for guidance while improving their work in the new year.

Earlier, the Director of Planning, Research and Statistics, Mr. Richard Adesoji, underscored the significance of embracing righteousness.

Drawing from Psalm 45:7, he described righteous living as being in right standing with God and urged staff to fulfill their duties with integrity.

“As a righteous person, you must resume in the morning and close as and when due. Let us turn a new leaf as regards our attitude to work. We should institute the correct system of righteousness in order to enjoy God’s oil of gladness,” he said.
