Health workers in Ondo State will not take part in the nationwide strike declared by JOHESU, The Hope has gathered.

According to a statement from the office of the Head of Service in the state, this is due to the existing mutual understanding between the organised labour and the Arakunrin Akeredolu-led government due to its worker-friendly policies.

The statement reads; “the attention of the Office of the Head of Service has been drawn to the nationwide strike action declared by Health Workers under the auspices of JOHESU across the nation.

“It is however cheering to inform the public that, given the existing mutual understanding between the organised labour and the Arakunrin Akeredolu-led government due to its worker-friendly policies, Health Workers in Ondo State have decided not to join the strike action.

“While calling on the public not to entertain fear of any disruption in services at government facilities across the state, health workers in the service of Ondo State are enjoined to go about their normal duties without any fear of molestation.

“Be assured that the state government will continue to engage relevant workers unions to permanently address all legitimate concerns of all Health Workers and indeed, all workers in the state.”
