Ondo HoS charges workers on sustained efficient service delivery

By Kemi Olatunde

Ondo State Head of Service, Mr Bayo Philip, has urged workers in the state to continue to discharge their responsibilities in more effective ways in order to achieve the goals of Governor Aiyedatiwa’s developmental plans for the state.

Mr Philip issued this charge on Thursday while addressing the 18th edition of his interactive session with the state Public Service Change Ambassadors, held in Akure, the state capital.

While noting that the state government is not relenting in addressing contemporary challenges faced by the citizenry due to the economic situation across the country, he urged workers not to compromise their effective service delivery.

According to him, workers should adhere strictly to the newly refined focus of the reform agenda of the service, which is, as he stated, ‘don’t deliver short, don’t deliver late.’

Describing some of the government’s efforts towards the well-being of the workforce, Mr Philip said it is no longer news that workers in the state now receive their salaries as and when due and are not owed any salary arrears. He also mentioned that promotion letters for the year 2024 have been issued to deserving officers and that these will be distributed earlier in the year 2025.

To mitigate the effects of the current economic challenges, the HoS encouraged officers to make full use of the state Health Insurance Scheme, ORANGHIS, for their health and medical needs, in order to reduce their out-of-pocket expenses.

Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary of the Public Service Reform and Development Department, Mr Wale Omomowo, said the routine meeting was designed to disseminate the reform programme to the workers through the selected Change Ambassadors.
