Ondo State Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, has described the state as an investment destination with a fast growing economy .
The Governor who was represented by his Deputy, Mr Lucky Aiyedatiwa, stated this at the Ground Breaking Ceremony of Ala Resort, along Airport Road, Oba-Ile Akure.
The project when completed will center around Akure Airport which will serve as its primary driver.
This landmark project is a collaboration between Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Ala Resort Limited.
In his remark at the event, the Deputy Governor expressed profound gratitude to the promoter of the project for considering Ondo State worthy for the project.
“This state under this present administration places high premium on security as well as conducive environment for residents and investors to thrive in the State” , he said.
The Deputy Governor equally disclosed that government policies centered on fostering economic transformation, job creation and enhancement of human and social development as a clear demonstration of the State as an investment destination with fast growing economy.
“With Ala Resort in Akure, this is simply a new idea to luxury and prosperity as it will help in generating revenues for the State and the people around this community” , he further said.
Speaking at the event, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Otunba Niyi Adebayo said, “we as ministry are pleased with this unique investment as i extend our gratitude to the promoter of this project” .
Earlier, the Chairman, Board of Directors, Ala Resort Limited, Chief Wole Olanipekun SAN, CFR, said, “I feel proud and gratified to have been given the privilege to be part of this historical moment signalling the flag off of a project that is bound to reshape the economic landscape and fortunes of Ondo State and the southwest in general” . He however appealed for peace in and around the project.
