Ondo labour salutes Akeredolu over February salary

Ondo State Organised Labour Salutes Governor Akeredolu on prompt approval for payment of February, 2023 Salary.

The statement reads: “The Organised Labour in Ondo State understands that payment of workers’ salary is a function and primary role of the government. Notwithstanding, the financial crisis in the country over the years has made that function cumbersome especially for very many State governments.

In Ondo State, just like the other States in the country, we have had our fair share of unstable and irregular payment of salaries. It is in light of this that we will always appreciate any effort deliberately geared towards payment of salary in the State.

Our worker-friendly Governor, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu  has just approved the payment of February, 2023 salary for workers in the State. We are grateful not because the Governor is performing his duties as number one citizen of the State but for the fact that he is a man loyal to his words.

In this age and time, it is rare to find politicians who would make a promise and fulfill it within reasonable time. Despite the financial constraints, the Governor has shown immeasurable love to workers of the State. We are indeed happy.

As the Election Day approaches, we urge our members to go out and exercise their franchise. It’s a civic responsibility that must be performed as patriotic citizens. Our PVC is our weapon, let’s use it wisely.

At this period in the life of our country, we must think deep and embrace those with verifiable track record and experience. Let’s reflect on the importance of trusted leadership. This is our surest path to the renewed hope.

We, unequivocal agree with the stance of the Governor on true federalism and rotational presidency. It’s our firm belief that no meaningful development can take place in a country where the federating states have no control over their affairs. Our choice in this election show our readiness to embrace true federalism.

We equally believe that power must rotate in the spirit of fairness and equality. It’s the only way our unity can be strengthened.

Once again, we want to use this opportunity to thank the Governor and appreciate him for our regular and timely promotions with financial benefits. Unlike in very many other States where salaries are paid without remitting deductions to workers, our Governor has paid  both salaries and deductions up till date. We thank you, Mr Governor.
