The chairman, Ondo State House of Assembly Committee on health, Dr Christopher Ogunlana has presented a blood bank refrigerator and hospital bed sheets to Irele General Hospital in Irele Local Government area of the State.
While presenting the items, Dr Ogunlana said the move became imperative to save more lives as the people of the area have to travel some kilometers before getting blood for patients.
He therefore assured the people that the present Administration will continue to prioritize their health and well-being.
He assured that the State Government would soon employ more personnel to man its medical facilities in the State.
The lawmaker also appreciated members of the 10th Assembly for their support which he attributed the success of the programme to.
While describing blood as life itself, the donor said the move was in fulfilment of his promise to give back to his constituents.
Also, Chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC) in Irele local government, Adebayo Omoge, the Chief Medical Director of hospital, Dr Ayeseminikan Abayomi, former chairman of the council and others who described the donation as the first of its kind commended the gesture, noting that it would go a long way in saving more lives in the area.
Thereafter, the Medical Director conducted Dr Ogunlana and his team round some units in the hospital.
Some of those who spoke at the event also called on people to always check their blood pressure to avoid untimely death.
