Ondo lawmaker Oshati empowers farmers in Ose, solicits support for Aiyedatiwa’s election
For the second time in less than seven months, a lawmaker representing Ose Constituency in the Ondo State House of Assembly, Chief Olatunji Oshati ‘Maxima,’ has empowered farmers in his constituency.
According to him, this will enable them to embark on wet season farming.
The event, held at the Ose Local Government Council Secretariat, Ifon, saw genuine farmers being empowered with spraying pumps and cash to aid their wet season cultivation and planting, with the overall aim of ensuring food sufficiency in the constituency.
Representing the State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Olayato Aribo, appreciated and commended the lawmaker for always remembering his people, which has been evident in his series of empowerment programmes.
The Governor said he has witnessed two such events in a short period. He also used the opportunity to inform the people of Ose about the numerous efforts his administration has put in place for their betterment.
He assured the people of continuous government support through various life-transforming policies and programmes aimed at improving their standard of living.
Chief Oshati, who is the Chairman of the House Committee on Information, thanked his constituents for their unwavering support, which he described as gratifying.
He emphasised the need for constituents to unite and forge a common front as the state moves towards the gubernatorial election, noting that Ose Council cannot afford to play a secondary role in the “O’datiwa” project.
The lawmaker described Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa as the candidate to beat in the forthcoming election and urged party members to unite and avoid any divisive tendencies that could weaken the party.
He applauded the resilience of the party leaders in the constituency and charged them to stay united and ensure a massive win for the party’s candidate and the Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, come November.
Chief Oshati acknowledged the efforts of the state government, the federal representative MHR Otunba Timehin Adelegbe, and Senator Ola Ipinsagba in delivering democratic dividends. He said he is also complementing their efforts and urged the farmers to make good use of these opportunities.
The event was attended by party bigwigs and political appointees led by the Commissioner for Agriculture, Olayato Aribo, who also represented the Governor; former House of Representatives member, Eni Omosule; SSA to the Governor, Solomon Elefola; SA to the Governor on Political Matters (Office of the Deputy Governor), Yinka Richard; and the Local Government Chairman, Idowu Adunbi.
Others included SA to the Governor, Godspower Eni Olotu; former Local Government Chairman, Adedayo Mabogunje (New Dawn); representative of the APC Chairman in Ose LGA, Nelson Adepoyigi, who also led all ward chairmen from the seven wards; the women’s leader, Mrs. Taiye Olagbegi; and Pa Aborowa.
