The Executive Chairman of Owo Local Government, Hon. Tope Omolayo, has commended a tricycle operator, Mr. Okoro Ilesanmi, for his exemplary honesty after he returned items left behind by a passenger.
Ilesanmi, a commercial Keke NAPEP driver in Owo, discovered the forgotten belongings in his tricycle and promptly took them to the council secretariat.
The Hope reported that the recovered items included a toaster bread machine, two small Tecno phones, and a pair of palm slippers.
Omolayo, who received the items, praised the driver for his integrity and sense of responsibility, describing his action as a rare display of moral uprightness at a time when many would have chosen otherwise.
He said Ilesanmi’s conduct reflected true spirit of honesty and discipline that Ondo State citizens are known for, urging others to emulate his good example.
The council boss further announced that the rightful owner of the items could reclaim them at the Owo Local Government Secretariat upon providing valid proof of ownership.
Omolayo also used the occasion to encourage residents to always safeguard their personal belongings and to continue promoting values that strengthen trust and community integrity.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to recognizing and celebrating acts of honesty and good citizenship within the local government area.
