Ondo: Liquor seller slumps, dies on duty

Oro town, an agrarian community in Odigbo Local Government area of Ondo State, was thrown into mourning following the death of a popular liquor joint operator in the community.
Although the cause of the victim’s death, who was also a notable indigene of the sleepy community, remains unclear at the time of filing this report, some details have emerged.
The victim, identified as Orobola Akinduro, was reportedly seen earlier in the day, hale and hearty, attending to her customers.
A few hours later, she was said to have slumped while serving customers and was subsequently rushed to a traditional herbalist in Otasan community, a suburb near Ile-Oluji town in Ile-Oluji/Okeigbo Local Government area of the state, for urgent medical attention.
She was later confirmed dead by the traditional doctor, after which her remains were evacuated by her family and deposited at the morgue of the Ondo State Specialist Hospital in Ondo town.
The community was thrown into deep mourning as news of the liquor joint operator’s death broke.
According to a source close to the family, the late Orobola is believed to have died of cardiac arrest before being rushed out of the community.
The source added that the deceased will be buried as soon as funeral arrangements are concluded.
