Ondo ’ll achieve ’35 to a class’ –Olabimtan

The Chairman, Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board, Mr Victor Olabimtan has assured that Ondo State is keen on achieving the ’35 pupils to a class’ required standard for schools in the state. 

Olabimtan, who spoke on a radio interview in Akure, stated that the state government has been working assiduously to ensure continuous provision of quality basic education and to ensure pupils learn under conducive environment.

The SUBEB Chairman also assured that the state government would continue to give on-the-job training to its teachers in line with contemporary trends in order to enhance their competence and capability.

He noted that when public schools have friendly and conducive environment and qualified teachers are on ground, parents would be encouraged to enroll their wards them.

 The former Speaker, Ondo State House of Assembly described the recently concluded headcount of primary school pupils, teachers and the school infrastructure as a huge success.

Olabimtan said the Universal Basic Education Commission Abuja would still come back  for a mop-up after the long term vacation to touch other areas that might have been left out.

The SUBEB Chairman thanked the Governor of Ondo State, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, the people of Owo Local Government Area, especially the traditional ruler of Owo kingdom, His Royal Majesty, Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye for ensuring the success of the exercise.

He extended his gratitude to Parents Teachers’ Association, Christian Association of Nigeria and the Muslim bodies for making the exercise fruitful, inspite the ugly incident that befell the ancient city of Owo recently.
