Ondo moves against adulterated rat killers

Ondo state government has expressed its readiness to eradicate fake rat killers from the state.
The Administrative Secretary of Agricultural Inputs Supply Agency, Ondo State, Mr Adeola Felix disclosed this in an interview with The Hope in Akure
He said the move is to further eradicate adulterated chemicals in the state.
” Those selling rat poison are supposed to come and register with the agro dealers so that we can know them because a lot of fake agricultural chemicals are being sold.”
” Even, there are some sellers who are selling provision, it is not advisable they sell agrochemicals.
“If you are called an agro dealer, you must sell only agrochemicals and agricultural materials ,not that you are selling building materials and you are also adding fertilizer and agrochemicals with it,” he explained.
. “That is why we have to harmonize everybody. The rat poison sellers are the ones causing a lot of deaths within the house like we discovered one day, that those rat poison sellers sold poison material and wiped away a whole family.”
“We are regulating them so that we can know them. By the time they register with the state government, then we shall know their identities.
“Knowing their identities indicate that their data will be known to government,” he said.
According to the administrative manager, government has begun registration of agro dealers since last year and would intensify on enforcement of the registration to recognise genuine agro dealers.
He however advised those selling agro chemical to get registered with the state government to avoid any form of harassment .
